The question is whether to use a Macerator or Grinder. How do you choose?
There are two types of pump that can meet different layout problems:
Macerator: a macerator placed behind a toilet with a horizontal outlet. Some models accept wastewater from several sanitary facilities (toilet, sink, shower and more) to install a complete bathroom.
Grinder: Is a heavy duty version of the Macerator. The internal mechanisms are ideal for commercial jobs, such as an apartment or public restroom, where sanitary products may be accidentally flushed. This is thanks to the Grinder blade on the inside of the unit (Grinder Blades work similarly to the blades used in a blender). Once, the waste is liquified, to a consistency. Then the quiet pump discretely pushes the waste upwards. This overcomes the need for installing messy in the floor plumbing.
Another option is the use of a Self-Contained Unit.
Self-Contained Unit: is a ceramic bowl with a macerator or grinder pump on the inside. These are designed to be ideal for small spaces (installation without water tank). The operation of a Self-Contained unit, like the Macerator and Grinder - still requires water supply, an electrical outlet and a sanitary line to discharge the waste to.

How to maintain a macerator toilet?
It is advisable to regularly clean and descale your pump
There are descalers specially designed to descale the inside of the appliance without damaging the internal components. This formula is also suitable for septic tanks.
It is recommended to descale monthly when the water is very hard, every 3 months when the water is hard or every 9-10 months when the water is very soft, by pouring ½ container into the grinder and activating 2 times the hunt 2 hours later.
